A visit from the 1st Milnerton SeaScout Cubs
The 1st Milnerton SeaScout Cubs visited the Milnerton Racecourse Conservation Area on 20 November, where they were taught about alien invasive plant species, the effects they have on the indigenous vegetation structure and how to remove them. 15 Scouts were present and they assisted in removing Vicia spp. weeds.
In observation of COVID-19 protocols, the Cubs were first screened before activities on the reserve began. They all wore their masks and sanitiser was provided. They were equipped with black bags and brought their own gloves to use when weeding.
